Innovation-at-POS_Survey_2014_PCM coverDuring a period of unprecedented technological change within the payments industry, no area is avoiding scrutiny and Point of Sale is certainly in focus.

In this piece of research, sponsored by First Data, PCM has run a survey to ascertain how the global payments industry sees the introduction of innovative POS technology being brought to market.

For the purposes of this research we have not included mPOS in our broad terminology of “innovative POS”, this is a deliberate exclusion. There is evidence that some large retailers have trialled mPOS in their organisations but there is no evidence of widespread movement from traditional cash register and POS to mPOS.

To that extent we have captured the thoughts of the industry regarding the introduction of innovation around merchant POS.
